The Domestic Emoluments Clause

  • The Domestic Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution states that the President may not receive payment from the U.S. federal government or any state government, other than hissalary:


The President shall ….. receive ….. compensation …… and he shall not receive …. [while President] any other emolument from the United States, or any of them.
